West Nordic Studies at Fróðskaparsetur Føroya, the Faroese university, are holding a Green Growth Dialogue conference on Responsible Tourism in Torshavn May 24th-25th. 2018. The aim is to create dialogue around relevant topic in order to a achieve a more responsible and sustainable development of tourism.
Among the speakers: Ketill Berg Magnúsen (FESTA), Guðrið Højgaard (Visit Faroe Islands), Stefán Gíslason (Environice), Kelly S. Bricker (Global Sustainable Tourism Council), Lisbeth Nebelong (author of Turen Går til Færøerne), Chris Horbel (Syddansk Universitet) and Karl Manning Granov (BALDER Expereinces).
One workshop will be held each day, which focuses on different topics within tourism, such as CSR, communication, integration of NGOs, initiatives to spread and attract tourism, food tourism and entrepreneurship.
The conference is held in cooperation with Visit Faroe Islands, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hugskotið and the Faroese Travel Industry Association.
