International Women’s Day 2018. A collaboration betweent The Nordic House, Damudomi and HØRT.
Menstruation, period, the curse, time of the month. It has many names and even more meanings across the world. For thousands of years, menstruation has been shrouded in mystery, fear and taboo. Everone from doctors to marketeers, feminists, artists, politicians and priests have had an opinion about the blood the month after month flows between the legs of half the population on earth. On 8 March, the Nordic House, Damudomi and Hørt invite you to an evening about Menstruation. HØRT will curate the evening, where we wil be able to share experiences with and thoughts about menstruation – about having it, not having it any more and about never having it. We will focus on the wondrous world down below – filled with blood, myth, shame, personal stories and the battle of the sexes.
